Stephanie Gilmore Wins Beachley Classic at Dee Why Point
- Published 04/29/2010
Steph Gilmore has increased her lead in the 2010 ASP World Tour ratings with a last minute win over Gerringong's Sally Fitzgibbons at the Commonwealth Beachley Classic held at Dee Why Point last Monday. Fitzgibbons seemed to be heading for her first victory on the ASP Worls tour only to be denied in the final portion of the days final held in deteriorating conditions on the point. Gilmore's tactics of sitting and waiting for the winning wave paid off in a big way. Winning the event that is the richest on the women's tour and worth 1200 points on the ratings.
